Well, not too surprisingly, the same person who submitted them in the
first place (see the Action Logs on the feeds).

The couple that I checked passed validation, and each entry does
appear to lead to different content -- and while that content is
clearly designed to encourage purchasing a site membership, there is
also unique-per-item content available without any purchase. The
content itself may be distasteful to some, but we're not supposed to
impose editorial control, just technical -- unless it's spam.

So the questions are, are the feeds technically sound or not, and are
they spam or not? A quick check (without perusing the XML directly)
suggests they are at least technically sound.

So are they spam? Unfortunately, that's a gray area -- not every feed
that is commercial in nature should be considered spam, or we would
have to reject a huge chunk of the database and lose some high-quality
feeds in the process (especially considering the broad range of things
that can be considered "commercial"). I've certainly seen feeds that
-- despite having less potentially-offensive content -- looked more
like spam than this set. Those are the ones where each feed item
actually goes to the same content, which isn't even content but just
keyword-generated garbage along with Google AdSense-type ads.

I would consider these feeds to be borderline -- essentially, that
somebody could successfully argue that they're valid feeds. (Of
course, my opinion on that would change if there's ever duplicate
content linked to different feed items, or if the content never
changes and there are never any more items in the feed.) When I see
something like this prominently appearing on the home page of the
site, I will usually spend a few minutes finding good feeds to approve
in sufficient quantity to scroll off the ones I consider questionable.
(The craigslist feeds are usually rich ground for this purpose.)
