Summary: complications when setting document length to 0s

Initial Comment:
If I have a document with a non-zero length, and change the length to 0s:

* if I was in animate edit mode, then border stays red, I stay in animate edit
mode, and editing parameters makes new waypoints

* if I wasn't in animate edit mode, I'm not allowed to edit any parameters
which were previously animated. It tells me I should switch to animate edit
mode, but the button is disabled, since the document length is zero.

When I set the length to 0s, all the waypoints seem to move to 0s. Should they
all be deleted instead, and animate edit mode switched off?

They seem to, but if you change the document length back, they move back to
where they were, so they're only being displayed at 0s and not really being
moved.
