I'm pretty sure not.  It's a new format and installation.  All the files 
were downloaded on my Pizmo which has up-to-date automatic virus checking

Ah...this is a possibility.  The drive was wierdly formatted when I got it 
and Apple's HD Setup couldn't do anythin (it is a genuine Apple drive).  I 
used a proggie called SCSI Tools 2.  But I have downloaded Lido so I'll try 
that.  I also now have Apple's HD Setup 3.0.1 which apparently will format 
anything that spins.
