Do you have another desktop Mac? If so, you could reformat and test the
hard drive on that (to eliminate any other variables) - not sure how you
would test the motherboard, though ...
Also, I've never used Lido, so I can't comment on it, but I used Drive
Setup to format and partition my drive (in another machine - a 7200, I
think), then used it in my SE/30 and it works great.
