Ok...having a fab time with my System 6 SE (it's sooooo fast...starts up in a millith of the time it takes my Pizmo running 9.2)...but I'm experiencing a slight problem printing to networked laser printers. I'm on a large network with a great many printers available. When I select laserwriter in the choser I see a bizarre assortment of the available printers: mostly queues, very old printers (like the IIg), and very new printers (like HP 4000 series). What I don't see are the 90% remaining bog standard printers like HP4, HP5, HP6 etc. (we have a lot of HP printers!).
I'm assuming that I need some kind of laserwriter8 driver, but I can't find one for System 6. Am I correct? Am I fated not to be able to print to my networked HP5 when I finally take the little SE home? All thoughts, as ever, gratefully received!
