My only fear would be that "due to an unforeseen > rise in interest" Apple would make 6.0.8 a pay item at some point. > > My best to you all. > > Wade Rackley I agree it would make a unique splash in the world of Old Mackery. But we're a dwindling consortium. It's not mainstream enough for "them what can" to apply their brainpower to the task. Limitations like memory, graphics, java, etc. make it tough to push the boundaries. It WOULD be a hoot to get grayscale graphics in the browser of my SE/30, do iTunes connected to a radio station with streaming audio, MP3, video, and so-on, it's tough to make those things happen on 8 megs of RAM at 25Mhz on a 68030 CPU. I'm satisfied to email on my Plus, surf with I.E. 2.1 on my SE/30 to many, not all sites, do these things with relative ease on my 68k Color Mac collection from the IIcx to my Quadra 650. Somehow that's quite a bit to do. Relative to the age of the Mac. Relative to the same-era PC's which WON'T do that in Windows.
