I've partitioned the 750Mb SCSI drive in my SE/30 and installed OS 6.0.8
on one 200Mb partition and 7.1 on the remaing space. However, I cannot
seem to get the machine to boot from the 7.1 partition. When I use
Startup Disk to select the volume, both partitions are usually selected.
If I just select the 7.1 partition and reboot, system 6 comes up every
time.

I've tried copying the startup disk control panel from 7.1 to the 6.0.8
folder with no better luck. Also, I can't get Mode32 to work at all, in
any version on this SE/30. I have the Multifinder turned off, but I'm
still stuck with 8Mbs of RAM instead of the 32 I installed. (Can't try
system 7 yet of course, because I can't boot there...)

Anyway, I read this article
(http://www.lowendmac.com/oldmac/compact3.html) and it seems to suggest
that I should be able to boot from one partition to the other just by
using Startup Disk. Any suggestions, short of getting System Picker?
