NCAA Divsion 2 NE/NY District Qualifier Franklin Park, Boston The first "real cross country" day in the area - 40's and rain Gary Mello of Bentley was challenged early on, but ran in alone from 4 miles to win the NCAA D2 District meet. Realignment divided the previous district 1 putting New ENgland and New York in one district. Bentley and U.Mass Lowell looked to trade the leading team marks over the five lap course, with Lowell having the advantage at the finish. The rain got harder and the course muddier for the women. Laura Trull of Stonehill led from one mile on, winning the 6K in 23:23; her Stonehill College team will make their first appearance at Nationals, accompanied by Southern Connecticut.
