The writer Sheila Hudson was born in Warzburg, Germany on June 30, 1967. Her
father is African-American and her mother Korean. She graduated from Rio
Linda High School in California in 1985 and from the University of California
in Berkeley with a degree in architecture in 1990. She won six NCAA titles
in the long and triple jumps. She was ranked fifth in the world triple jump
in 1992 and 1994.
