I don't get it.  Is losing to a world record holder that big of
an ego-killer for sprinters?

1) Who is the wrh?
2) I agree.  But what reason does she have to run against Marion?  She has
her own season to worry, of which MSR is a part of.  The 300 serves no real
purpose for her.  Now if she goes out there and runs 51.5, she is working
towards a purpose.  But filling a lane at the chance that she might be
competitive, in an event that is not recognized by the IAAF, and has no
meaning to her is useless.
I do not see why she should run the race.  I much rather see her run the 400
or 200 and continue to shine.  Her participation in the 300 is for headlines,
not for her.

Faith is a road seldom traveled
Let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus,
the author and finisher of our faith" Hebrews 12: 1-2
