It appears that Babson College, a Division III school in Wellesley MA, will be dropping cross country and track. Don't have all the details/reasons (i.e., Title IX, budget, other, or some combination). The coach told me this last Saturday; the team was notified on Thursday, two days before their conference championship meet. Babson has had cross country for 40+ years, but only started their track program three years ago. This season they had their largest turnout and interest was growing. Most of the cuts mentioned recently have been Division I; here is a DIII school with no football program getting the ax.
