In Austin they do have that attitude that you embrace. As long as Longhorn football players don't kill anyone, they have a long leash. Come to think of it, high school players in Texas get the same Hear-no-evil deference.
When being entertained, I prefer seeing the real thing. I have a problem when I find out I've been duped. malmo > >Enough drug talk! There are some great meets coming up. Marion >versus ZPB. A great 10K in Brussels. Kajsa's amazing season. Etc. >Let's enjoy it and discuss it without tainting every performance. > Here, here! (Or is it "hear, hear"?) I wish all the media had that attitude. My hometown daily, the Austin American-Statesman, has almost completely ignored the Euro season. But I bet if Mo or Marion tested positive, that would make the front of the sports section. I'm guessing everyone else around America can say the same. Glad the internet exists for those of us who want to read about the actual competitions. Speaking of the I-net, I don't suppose anyone knows if there will be a webcast of Crystal Palace? I looked on the BBC web site, and BBC2 is carrying it live on real TV, but there was no mention of a webcast. I e-mailed them to ask, but I assume they get a gazillion e-mails every day and won't be able to get back to me. -- Lee Nichols Assistant News Editor The Austin Chronicle 512/454-5766, ext. 138 fax 512/458-6910 [EMAIL PROTECTED]
