Sarah, Thanks for your responses. I've put a photo of the weaving on the web at http://uts.cc.utexas.edu/~llama/ramshorn/ As you can see, the yellow interrupts the purple rams horns instead of outlining it. Because of copyright I can't put Crockett's original on the site for comparison (or her instructions), so hope some of you do have her book or other sources of the pattern.
Timothy, I use a Mac PowerBook, and Guntrams Tabletweaving Thingy requires Windows. There is an online program on LoomyBin that I might be able to figure out how to use. It seems to work with my Mac.
I appreciate your help and suggestions,
Sharon

Weaving, and am working on her rams horn draft 12 pattern, p. 79. My initial 6 inches only vaguely resemble hers and I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I've triple checked threading, colors, AD placement, yet the "horns" are interrupted by the light color yarn. I'm using 3/2 pearl mercerized cotton.
Congratulations, you have found what may be the most common problem encountered by beginning/intermediate tablet weavers - how to get the dratted ram's horns working! :)
We can probably get you straightened out, since we as a group have had lots of experience with wrong & right approaches, but a picture would be helpful.
Sounds like you've made a good start to TW and have a grasp of the basics, this is just a tricky pattern...
