Jesse,

Thanks for the tip, but still a mystery. Saw no exceptions or errors relating to this in my log files. This Tomcat server the war is deployed on is the same server that my development app is on. I am not sure on this one. Before spending more time integrating Tacos into my development app, I wanted to make sure the demo app runs. I will try out assigning a file appender for log4j in case that is causing a problem. Any suggestions?

Here is a snip of the deployment:
Apr 4, 2006 5:09:24 PM org.apache.catalina.startup.HostConfig deployWAR
INFO: Deploying web application archive tacos4-beta-1-demo.war
log4j:WARN No appenders could be found for logger
(org.apache.catalina.session.ManagerBase).
log4j:WARN Please initialize the log4j system properly.
2006-04-04 17:09:30,914 INFO - - ApplicationServlet - Initialized
application servlet 'TacosDemo': 1,574 millis to create HiveMind Registry,
2,838 millis overall.

Thanks,
Joseph

The war should work out of the box. I can't imagine what might be happening but you might want to check your catalina.out file or similar to see if there are any exceptions being generated.

My understanding is that if I would like to do AJAX type of stuff with
Tapestry, Tacos is the way to go. The demos look really great and I
would certainly like to try out some of this stuff. Thought I would
check it out so I downloaded the latest release tacos4-beta-1. I
grabbed all four files from SourceForge. I have spent far too long
trying to get the HtmlInlineEditBox example working in my app,
    that will
be another post. Figured I would deploy the downloaded jar into
    tomcat
and see if all that works. Went to http://localhost/TacosDemo/app and
saw a white blank page. The page source is blank, no text. My Tomcat
server is valid as I use it for development. The war was
    decompressed
into a tacos4-beta-1-demo dir and it all looked good as far as I could
determine. I see the necessary libs in there as well. I am running
Fedora Core 3, Java 1.5.0_06, and Tomcat 5.5.9.

Can this war be dropped into Tomcat straightaway, by itself, and be
accessed? Did I miss something? How do I access it once deployed?

    Thanks,
    Joseph
