I personally am completely focused on tap 4.1 only right now. Even with that, I don't care as much about the components - yet..
When the time is right....I want each and every feature that comes into 4.1 to be lovingly placed into its proper place with the utmost care to ensure our foundation is as strong as possible.
After that I'm sure the components will start coming fairly fast. Not sure where tacos will be after all of this, I would be sad to see it diminished, but I have a feeling it will live on as a good place for more community involvement/components that just can't go into apache because of licensing or beta status.

Hi there,
I know Jesse is absolutely buried in it's work in T4.1 at the moment, and that people at Tacos are thinking to launch Tacos Beta 3 as the official release and start working in the next one with Tap 4.1 as it's base.
What I would like to know is what will be the relation with Tacos and Tapestry.
I see that Jesse has integrated dojo in Tap 4.1. He has created a few components for now that look familiar with Tacos (Autocompleter!).
Tap 4.1 is providing some very nice goodies like the EventListener (marvelous annotation! :-D).
My question is then, will Tacos be, in reality, bundled in Tap 4.1? Is that the final objective?
Or will Tacos be massively refactored for Tap 4.1?
Some components of Tacos don't make sense anymore. Like AjaxLink (Tap 4.1 DirectLink seems to cover this functionality) or the referenced AutoCompleter. As Jesse has stated the Alpha release of T4.1 is not focused on the component bundle. Just a few to prove the concept, so as more components appear in Tap 4.1 maybe more overlaps like this will happen.
I am currently looking at Tap 4.1 for my newest project. I currently have more than a dozen components built on top of the Tapestry 4.0 + Tacos suite, and will start migrating them to the Tap 4.1.
I am just curious as to where all of this is going to.
I have already tried to deploy Tap 4.1 + Tacos Beta 2... crash and burn. As I expected, so compatibility is not there.
What are you guys planning in this Tap 4.1 vs Tacos game? :-D
No wanting to make waves here. I am all in favor of Jesse's work on Tap 4.1! I He's just making my framework dreams come true! :-) I just want to grasp where this is going to so that I can safely start using it ASAP but in the correct fashion from the start.
