man_made=bridge as proposed on http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Proposed_features/man_made%3Dbridge is in my opinion a good tagging scheme, I started work on displaying it in a default style ( https://github.com/gravitystorm/openstreetmap-carto/issues/436 ).
But I noticed that there was never a vote to recognize it as an approved tag. I plan on starting vote in the near future, so it may be a good idea to check this proposal for potential problems. See also https://github.com/gravitystorm/openstreetmap-carto/issues/436
