What about a tagging method like this :

lanes=3
lane_2=forward_direction;left_turn

 or

lanes=3
lane_2:direction=forward
lane_2:turn=left

 instead of

lanes=3
lanes:forward=2
turn:lanes:forward=left|through

 ?
