there's an *observation* that this tag has different meanings,
from a few blades of grass between 2 streets to a paved surface
for the big annual village party.
Do you dispute that *statement* ?
or do you want to deny it and repeat that only your meaning should
be taken into account ?
If you use it in your neighborhood, your own application may decide that
your meaning is the only common sense, but on a global level, this can't
succeed.

You seem to be talking about depreciation as if there was a voting
procedure, whereas in this case it's more like "these multiple meanings
make the tag unusable worldwide, fortunately there are less ambiguous
alternatives".
