actually you do not have to map everything in the world in a first 
approximation in order to map details, everybody maps what she wants, you can 
add fire hydrants even when streets are not mapped yet (or sometimes people 
complain: “you are mapping building details and in the neighbour village whole 
streets are still missing” etc). It may not always be beautiful, but IMHO it is 
inherent for a project of volunteers who can map whatever they like.
