Boot from your pen drive. Now install the persistence from inside
Tails. I don't have Tails up, but it's there. If you poke around
you'll find where it is! Try under "Tails".

I spent several hours yesterday trying to install Tails 0.22.1 on a USB stick
with only partial success.
I first used a live DVD to boot and then installed using the Tails Installer.
This appeared to work except my computer then wouldn't recognize it as a
bootable device. It's a new (1 yr old) Gateway PC.
I then reformatted the stick as Master Boot Record. It looked like Tails
Installer only allows GUID. From there, I used the Linux on a Pen installer
(forget the exact name). This worked and boots but it doesn't allow me to use a
persistent partition.
Any way to use Tails Installer to create a MBR rather than GUID partition?
