Hi tailspeople. I posted this on the reddit forums, but I'll throw it to the support list too. The 'dotfiles' support in tails seems a little sketchy - I can't quite get it to work. My goal is to have saved desktop setup stuff (like having color themes for Terminal saved between reboots), but can't seem to get it working...
Here's my post: What's not working is the dotfiles stuff. I realized there was a mechanism to save persistent confiurations with dotfiles, so I symlinked ~/.gconf/ over to Persistent/dotfiles/.gconf - but it didn't stick. It's back to: amnesia@amnesia:~/Persistent/dotfiles$ ls -ld ~/.gconf drwx------ 4 amnesia amnesia 80 Nov 15 11:06 /home/amnesia/.gconf amnesia@amnesia:~/Persistent/dotfiles$ ls -la total 12 drwx------ 3 amnesia amnesia 4096 Nov 14 06:33 . drwx------ 5 amnesia amnesia 4096 Nov 14 06:32 .. drwx------ 4 amnesia amnesia 4096 Nov 14 06:33 .gconf So, close but no cigar. I wonder if .gconf is special because it's built from scratch, and I may have to have a post-bootup "copy my profiles in" thing.
