As far as I know the Telegram client for Linux does not offer any additional features to the web client.
Just navigate to https://web.telegram.org/ and log in as you are used to. Unfortunately this might give away your location to Telegram (because your log in code might be sent to your mobile device) or to another party (because a text message might be sent to you). You might have to do that every time you start the Tor browser. Other than that I don't see big drawbacks.
