Correct. Both on my laptop and my desktop (both 64-bit) I always end up with a 32-bit system. This feels wrong indeed. How can I force Tails to load a 64-bit kernel? I'm forwarding this to our help desk. I think they'll ask you to submit a complete bug report, that will include information about your hardware, that will help understand what's going on. Please also tell us how exactly you've installed Tails: some less-than-optimal installation methods might break our 32-bit/64-bit auto-detection. Cheers! My Desktop: Gigabyte H81M-HD3 motherboard with 16GB memory and an Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4790 CPU @ 3.60GHz processor It has a 128 GB SSD and a 1TB HD It's dual boot machine with Windows 10 and Linux Mint 18. I had downloaded the 2.7 ISO and installed it using the Tails installer on a SanDisk Ultra Fit (1.00) 16 GB USB stick.
