Dear GB Community., On behalf of TomTom, I have launched new MapRoulette combined challenge: ‘United Kingdom - Intersecting and Spiky Buildings London’ mpr.lt/c/52744. We have generated 2709 tasks concentrated in London Area where we identified situations where a building footprint intersects with another building footprint at the same layer and/or building footprints where the angle between two of its walls at a single point is < 15 degrees. These issues can cause the buildings to look messy and unrealistic which will also affect the visual representation and accuracy in end user applications. We did make some updates to the code to reduce some false positives being reported in complex situations, but some tasks may still not result in edits due to being false positive, so feel free to mark them as "Not an Issue" when applicable.
Most of these tasks can be resolved using available aerial imagery, though local knowledge can also be helpful in some situations. Our editing team plans to pick-up this challenge in a couple of weeks starting after August 14, 2025. As always, the challenge is public, so anyone that’s interested can review and/or work the tasks.
