Dear GB Community., On behalf of TomTom, I have launched another new MapRoulette challenge: ‘United Kingdom - Fix Conflicting Highway and Construction Tag’ mpr.lt/c/51541. We have generated 831 tasks across the UK where identified situations where a way (road) has conflicting highway=* and construction=* tags. If a road's construction is complete but the tag is still applied to the way, or tags incorrectly applied, it may cause the road to be rendered as under construction or excluded from navigation that affect usability of the OSM data for all the users.
We generated the tasks based on filtering out OSM ways where highways with construction=* tag have a highway tag with value implying the road class instead of highway=construction (e.g. construction=primary and highway=primary). Please note that some tasks may no longer require edits. If the issues have already been addressed by other contributors, feel free to mark the task as "Already Fixed". If you think that the issue does not require a fix, and is correct as it is, please mark the task as “Not an Issue”. Most of these tasks can be resolved using available aerial imagery, though local knowledge can also be helpful in some situations. Our editing team plans to pick-up this challenge in a couple of weeks starting after August 14, 2025. As always, the challenge is public, so anyone that’s interested can review and/or work the tasks.
