It's a religious topic, indeed. Every email list I'm familiar with does the opposite of every one of yours. ;) There are about 200 subscribers, currently. If you want the default changed, I'm open to it, although I probably won't change it unless there's a pretty strong consensus for it, and little dissent against a change. Let's not argue the merits of either approach.
