For various reasons, the pattern used by vests in Canada (X on the back) is not particularly common in the US or Europe.

Meeting a safety standard was a bit attractive so you can use them for other uses that don't care about the logo. I think some European countries require you to have a high-vis jacket in the car for when you break down. Some mappers in the UK like to wear high-vis when cycling, so use their OSM one even when not mapping. When the SotM12 venue is announced it might be could for all countries to see what the interest is and then let Andy Allan (of OpenCycleMap) know or someone do an order of several. Having them available at something like SotM is easier/cheaper than individual deliveries.
