According to the wiki, http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/GNIS feel free to
modify or remove the tag. The wiki does suggest leaving tag gnis:feature_id
unless the node is being removed. If you are adding a building polygon, for
example a fire station, merge the gnis tags with the building outline.
