This is the expected behaviour when a HTML form control has a required
attribute.

It is exposed as invalid until valid content is entered.

I think this is counter intuitive, but it is how the attribute is specified
in HTML and how browsers have implemnted it thus the information is exposed
in accessibility APIs and conveyed to users.

I have Google Chrome set up with the google search page as my home page. 
  When getting to the area to type in what you want to search for and hit
enter to turn off browse mode WE says invalid required before you type in
anything.  Any way to stop this from happening?
