You should run it exclusively.  If you install other products that perform
the same tasks windows will turn defender off to prevent problems.

OK, Just one more question if I may. Should one run Defender along with
other virus checkers, or should it be run exclusively? I just got a new
computer, and we just installed the free version of Avira, so really need to
