You should hear size if you have details checked under view.

Subject: Windows Explorer in Windows 7
At one time, I thought I could hear the size, or at least an approximate
size, of a folder spoken. Now, I get no size information even wqhen Size
is checked under the View menu. Have I remembered wrong or just forgotten
something? I do hear file sizes. I checked Folder Ooptions in Control
Panel and didn’t see anything that would directly relate to this.
