WE runs fine on my Surface. While it doesn't have the ports you get on traditional laptops or desktops, software applications run fine. Of course, it helps to have enough memory and processor speed. I run Office 2013 on my Surface, and it runs quite quickly and effectively under Windows 10 with 8 GB RAM.
