Okay, I'll try and answer all of your questions; let me know if I forget
anything. I purchased my Surface a little over a year ago, so you'll have
to check current prices. I have a Surface Pro Three, intel I7 processor, 8
GB RAM and a 250 GB SSD drive now running Windows 10.
It does not come with a keyboard, but you can purchase a keyboard cover;
last I knew, that was $129. I use the Lobgitech k810 which is a Bluetooth
keyboard. The keys are spaced nicely and it's easy to type on. I did buy
the keyboard cover and have used it when I need to charge the other
keyboard, or if for some reason, I don't get response from the keyboard
which is rare.
There is one USB port, but you can get a USB hub to expand available ports.
Depending on what system you get, you will likely spend anywhere from $500
to $2000 which is the absolute top of the line system. I think that covers
everything.

Hi,

What's the spec of your surface and how much did it cost you? I assume you
can plug external things into it yes? What keyboard do you use for it? Or
does it even have one built in?

WE runs fine on my Surface. While it doesn't have the ports you get on
traditional laptops or desktops, software applications run fine. Of course,
it helps to have enough memory and processor speed. I run Office 2013 on my
Surface, and it runs quite quickly and effectively under Windows 10 with 8
GB RAM.

If it's anything like the days of netbooks, it would probably run ok for
messing about on, but not fast enough for day to day, more important tasks.
