Thanks, I like your control-a then delete suggestion. The only reason I
tried turning browse mode on while composing an e-mail was to try to
figure out what I deleted from the message with the attachment, but your
machine gun explanation helps me out a lot in understanding why.

You can save the attachment and attach it to a new message. You can
also use the "Edit as new message" option in the message menu. But
this is really the same as forwarding. It just doesn't put FWD in the

and edit them.

character following the one you just deleted. You can also delete text
by selecting it using any of the cursor movement keys with Shift

I'm not sure what you're asking when you say "when I try to turn on
browse mode..." It should automatically be on when reading messages
and off when in the composition window, that is, writing a new
message, a reply, or a forward.

affect WE somewhat and it becomes mostly silent when I alt-tab. Also
