i was just trying to stop the counter and still have speech for the menus and
shortcut keys without haveing to turn the w e voice off.

If the app is not encrypted, it would be simple to add a hotkey to allow
disabling it on the fly, or you could just do it yourself from the App
Manager.
Oh, and what about defining a hotkey under Miscellaneous hotkeys for
toggling All Voices?

thats because you are not useing the wineyes qt support app that makes some
of
the menu and list view options talk with some programs. like tapin radio and
the accessible kindle reader for windows.
un fortunitly it makes the counter talk too in vlc.
