Hi Larry, I'm not sure where you specified the hot key, but, in my experience, they work most consistently if the icons you use to define the hot keys reside on the desktop. Indeed, it is wise to check to see if the software the icons point to has been updated recently and, at that time, if you gave permission for icons to be placed on the desktop, perhaps they wre overwritten with fresh copies of the icons, in which case your hot keys would be no longer defind, or perhaps defined by the developer. At any rate, as Netbat has suggested, it is a problem which usually can be remedied by either redefining the hot key, or by deleting the icon, copying a new one onto the desktop, and then editing its properties to redefine the hot key. As you can probably tell, I've been down this road before, and this is why I don't use them myself, preferring, instead, to press Enter on desktop icons.

My only problem with the windows key method comes with my wifi keyboard, where I have no right side Windows key.
