Window-Eyes places Control-Alt-W in the shortcut file pointed to by the
Window-Eyes entry in the start menu.
I don't know how it could have vanished but here's how to reset it.
Press the Windows key to open the start menu.
Go to the Window-Eyes item used to launch it.
Open the context menu with the Applications key or Shift-F10.
Open file location.
You should land on the Window-Eyes shortcut file.
Applications key or Shift-F10 again to open the context menu.
R for Properties.
Tab down to the Shortcut key edit field.
Just press the letter W. This will insert Control-Alt-W.
Tab to Apply and press the space bar.
Tab back to OK and press space bar.
Close the explorer window.
You could also do the same with the Window-Eyes shortcut that's placed
on the desktop by default. But I would first check the start menu
shortcut because as I said I can't imagine how it could have gotten
undefined unless you have something else overriding it.

the Start menu, and choosing it.
The simple fact is that there is nothing built into Window-Eyes that makes
Control-Alt-W work.
The icon is what does it.

But in the last few versions, they had put on control alt w in case window
eyes would crash, and it was supposed to be able to restart window eyes. It
has worked most of the time for me. So, maybe you have to reinstall it.
Or, is it an ap? I know somebody said all their aps were suddenly gone.

What I always did turn on window – eyes was to press control escape to get
to the control panel then I would press W give it a moment then arrow down
to. I believe the layout has changed as now I only have to arrow down one
but I'm not sure what the layout would be like on your computer.
