With apologies to basically everybody, I made the utterly typical idiotic move of staying up until dawn because I had too much on my mind to be able to sleep. This particular evening the topic was OAM.
http://wiki.openaerialmap.org/Technical_Proposal is the fruit of my insomnia, and I am fairly sure that anyone who doesn't fall asleep reading it will find something to be outraged by. Fortunately, I consider this the hallmark of a potentially sound proposal. I especially want to apologize to Paul, whose ideas I cribbed mercilessly (without being sure to what extent he's cribbed from mine in turn, or vice versa), but whose very helpful document on etherpad I totally failed to properly integrate into this stub of a wiki page. I sincerely hope that someone will correct this oversight. Basically, I just had to get this out before I got caught up going round in circles on this fine mailing list and went mad. I really hope it at least gives us something a little more concretely implementable to debate. Please please please go edit the wiki page if you have *any* thoughts on the subject, or else please air your grievances here and we will have a go at them.
