Tools like the Map Warper [http://warper.geothings.net/] publish a constantly
updating WMS catalog.
Map Warper's code is open source, so very possibly there will be a number of
installs, like http://maps.nypl.org/warper/
And very likely that other systems will be constantly adding new imagery to
their catalogs.
So just a brief technical point that the catalog will need to be implemented to
continually aggregate and update sources,
WMS catalogs or otherwise.
