Out of curiousity, is this machine available with high bandwidth? (How
high is high?)
currently our max provisioned capacity is Gigabit Ethernet 10Gbps,
recently measured throughput 3-4 Gbps with some hardware upgrades
planned to get closer to line rate. point of presence is to
Corporation for Education Network Initiatives in California (CENIC)
High-Performance Research (HPR) network. Actually the HPR net
is probably just useful for research-oriented connections (such
as server mirroring) and the Digital Commodity (DC) network
would be shared with everyone else for public access. Our
networking folks are actually eager for us to stress their
pipes - it might take some time to get there, but it appears
to be plenty of headroom.
