It's not even possible to have the whole world in a single way. I was just arguing against splitting ways due to attribute changes which have nothing to do with the way itself (i.e., bridges, speed limits, etc.). A reasonable approach would be to split ways only if the name or major (highway) type changes. Obviously for dual carriageways, too... Karl
