Generally but not always. Suicides nearly always happen on the east (city) side of the Golden Gate Bridge. It's not because the view of the city makes people morose. It's because the west side is reserved for bicycles, and the east for pedestrians. Apparently bicyclists love life so much they don't commit suicide. Either that, or not having a bicycle is akin to death itself. Same thing for the Manhattan Bridge in New York City (one bridge north of the Brooklyn Bridge, which is the southern-most bridge on the east side of the city.) Bicycles on the north, peds on the south. And on the Brooklyn Bridge, it's bicycles in the middle since there's only one walkway. -- --my blog is at http://blog.russnelson.com Crynwr supports open source software 521 Pleasant Valley Rd. | +1 315-600-8815 Potsdam, NY 13676-3213 | Sheepdog _______________________________________________ talk mailing list talk@openstreetmap.org http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk
