I can recommend this script to download and start JOSM, particularly if you are working with "latest" versions, because it caches a configurable number of older versions, and makes it easy to use one of those in case you experience problems with latest: https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/User:Cobra/JOSM-script Cheers, Martin
