the josm-lack this is impossible too - like the lack of a default search gui in Ubuntu. Handstand in front of the desk. We're all gonna doie.

you can press Ctrl-Shift-M to open the Measurement box, then place a node where you need coordinates. Click on the node, then select the coordinate text in the Measurement box and press Ctrl-C.
