hi Maurice, understand to your furstration, but however, as a fare deal, we must give some space to the devs to fix issue found on anna devices. symbian anna official release worldwide just about last week and talks 5.21.3 already release before that.
i am sure there'll be a fixed release coming the way and a little more patient needed. -- Allan (WKF) ----- Original Message ----- From: "Maurice Press" <[email protected]> To: "'Talks Mailing List'" <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, August 26, 2011 18:26 Subject: Re: [Talks] E6 and one big problem and a question. Hi Alan. Thanks for this. Frankly, I'm really quite angry about this. Maybe I should have either read the notes more carefully or realised but, I've invested time and trouble in finding a good touch screen phone that really suits my needs and the E6 is the one. Yet, the one feature I use most isn't accessible. So, I guess it's either back to my N86 or Mobile Speak. I suppose there's no way of knowing when the next release will be coming out that w will take care of this problem. I realise I'm moaning a bit here but, it does seem as if we are getting a bit left behind with talks and touch screen phones. For example, should my N86 die as it's quite old then my options ar to either use a phone with Talks which is touch screen without the web browser, get an older phone or look for an alternative speech system. Maurice, please dont confuse yourself, the web browser fixed in this release was for symbian s60 9.3 devices and not for symbian anna yet. you must wait for another announcement by nuance for another release to fix issue found in symbian anna especially on the web browser part. honestly speaking, the talks release 5.21.3 is not fully support symbian anna yet. -- Allan (WKF) ----- Original Message ----- From: "Maurice Press" <[email protected]> To: "'Talks Mailing List'" <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, August 26, 2011 18:08 Subject: [Talks] E6 and one big problem and a question. Hi All. Now am really happy with my E6 and latest talks 5.213. I have set the whole phone up as I like it including Date and time which I couldn't do in the previous release of talks. However, I have encountered a major stumbling block. One of the main things I use on the phone is the Web browser. I understood that accessibility for using this had been solved in this version. So, I have installed the latest o2 browsing software but, find the following: When I press the Web icon or menu item all the phone will say is "Window". When I press the middle button it just says "Select". When I run my finger up the touch screen the icon says: "Text, http//www.o2active.com". But, no web. Now, to be honest, if I can't access the web then all my efforts setting up the E6 have been wasted. So, Can anyone tell me if there's anything I can do to sort this out or whether this hasn't been fixed by Nuance yet. If I can't access the browser then I will have to either go back to using my N86 or look for an alternative speech programme such as Mobile Speak which I really don't want to do. Just as an aside, is it possible to alter the qwerty keyboard so that one can text using the number keys as per my N86. Thanks very much.
