Dear Tango Adventurers,
The Tango by the Sea Exotic Tango Vacation will spill into the San Miguel
Tango week. If you are coming all the way to Mexico, whay not explore more of
it?
If you have never been to San Miguel de Allende, you have probably read
about it. if not in travel or art magazines, then in Architectural Digest. If
not there, then probably recently in the "movie blurbs." A new movie, "Once
Upon a Time in Mexico"; with Antonio Banderas and Johnny Depp, is being
wrapped up here. It wrapped up the town as well, as streets were randomly
closed for filming, with no notice to drivers.
Anyway, the town is a colonial jewel, with exquisite weather, colorful
flowers tumbling over walls, fountains, art schools, great restaurants and
SHOPPING. There are four main hot springs, with caves and tunnels to swim
through, gorgeous architecture, and many many concerts, art events, and jazz
festivals.
The San Miguel Tango segment will begin the evening of Jan. 20, and end
on Jan. 24, officially, with a milonga and practica and private classes going
on on the 25th.
I cannot say who the teacher is at the moment, as I am firming that up. One
or two of the Bs. As. teachers that normally work with ETVacations.
The cost will be $175 deposit, with total tango cost not more than $300.
Because January is high season here in San Miguel, you will need to book a
room NOW over the internet. The accommodations I was suggesting (and
handling) are now full.
You will have about 3 hours of dancing a day, and time for shopping and
exploring. We will be doing some special things together as a group as well.
Please see more about the vacations at: www.beyondtango.com.
As far as Tango By the Sea, there is room for 4 more couples and three
women, four men.
Dance Deliciously!
