Allow me to take just a moment of your time to introduce the new tango program at Empire Dance. In addition to the upcoming workshops with Graciela Gonzales (Oct 26 & 27) we have a growing ongoing program which, though very new, is already starting to produce a dedicated and enthusiastic band of tango dancers.
Many of you know Robin Thomas as a DJ and close embrace tango enthusiast. We are lucky to have him teaching, with his tango partner the amazingly talented (and beautiful) Jennifer Bratt, at Empire Dance. They are so generous in sharing thier knowledge and passion for tango. Mondays 8:30-9:30pm: Intermediate/Advanced Milonga Vals Thursday 7pm: Beginner Tango Thursday 8pm: Advanced Beginner Tango Thursday 9-10:30pm: Tango Practica We are also fortunate to have Sarah LaRocca teaching the Beginners class Wednesdays at 8pm. Sarah is the host of the all-night milonga in NYC. She is a great teacher, and famous for her style and wit, both on and off the dance floor! We are very lucky to have her on board. Sarah's class is followed by La Milonga de Suenos, our grand weekly milonga. We try to schedule our classes with the opportunity to dance afterward, which contributes to our students' progress. Eva Carrozza just returned from Buenos Aires and will add her skill to the mix with classes next month. Last but not least, Carlos Lima is sharing his experience with beginners on Saturdays at 1-2pm, followed by El Besito Tango Practica, from 2-4pm. Our practicas are free for students ($5 all others).
