New Tango Dancers, Please Read
------------------------------
Don't stay at home on Wednesday nights.
You are missing so much! This weekly event
is a great place to start.
Here is what you are missing:
- 7:30: A low-cost, highly attended beginners' class.
There is a different teacher every week or so,
including the occassional teacher from
Buenos Aires.
- 8:30: Three hours of social dancing.
Except for the occassional weekend milonga
(Argentine tango social dance), this is it!
- It is Boston's largest weekly event.
- The Tango Society of Boston does alot to attract
new dancers. So, you can meet new dancers, every week.
- TangoNow! Level-II students coordinate and meet,
at the VFW, to practice techniques from class.
- Many of Boston's instructors attend.
- Fliers are available for local tango classes,
dances and events.
To my Level-I leaders:
In our 3rd week of class, the leaders were tested,
(without telling you). Everyone has been paying
attention! We teach about
- the connection,
- understanding the follower's balance and pivot, and
- knowing where and when to step.
All of you should be attending the Wednesday dance.
Your follower's will know that you have been learning
to move, comfortably, with them. That isn't all that
common! Your lead WILL be appreciated!
To my Level-I followers:
In class, you have been constantly reminded about
your technique:
- Correct positioning of your feet and legs.
- Keep your own balance. No hanging on your
leader with your left hand.
Leaders take great pleasure in dancing with a follower
who is balanced and, therefore, quick to respond to
their lead. You will, undoubtedly, enjoy your first
night of tango outside of the classroom.
Stand near the front archway, and you will be noticed.
Haven't attended classes, yet?
You can stop in at any TangoNow! Level I class.
- The best time to start is
at the beginning of a series, or
- on the FIRST TUESDAY OF THE MONTH
when we go BACK TO BASICS.
- But, new dancers do begin every single week.
- Visit www.tangonow.com/Classes.html for details.
However, Wednesday night is another great time to begin.
... Enjoy your dancing!
