She has been an innovator along with those men in the newer, more experimental forms of Tango. However, her initial training is rooted in the study of the older Tango Masters. In other words, she's well-rounded in the teaching of Argentine Tango. Luciana is well versed in English, French and her native Spanish. She has taught in Canada, Brazil, & throughout the U.S. Luciana is well-respected as a teacher, not just by her students but also by her peers, because she is constantly striving to learn more about the Tango. She will energize and strengthen your Tango while showing you the latest techniques. Alex Krebs is from Portland, OR. He teaches Argentine tango for the social dance floor, emphasizing the improvisational side of the dance through a strong communication between the lead and follow and the music. Alex tries to give his students the vocabulary necessary so that each person can find their own unique way of dancing -- dancing the tango of their own body. He is a fanatic about the Argentine tango, and shares his passion with his students. Alex performed in the tango show "Tango Nights," at the Alladin Theater, "Danza Tropical" at the Teatro Milagro, choreographed Piazzolla's "Histoire du Tango," and is directing an upcoming tango show at the Miracle Theater April 16th-18th, 2003. He has been invited to teach all over the U.S. and is also teaching in Europe, now. These teachers are SUPERB, you will love them!!! That is why there are no specific titles for the classes. Rest assured, the material will be fun, fabulous and definitely will improve your Tango. Classes will include teaching Ganchos, Arrastres, Paradas, Giros, Ochos, etc. Also, we will spend time working on Vals & Milonga. But again, the teachers will be balancing the material with technique & proper Tango structure. We will be offering 3 levels of classes. This is just a guide to help you choose what level to participate in. Call if you have any questions. Register for the Beginner classes if: You are new to the dance and have not had any lessons before; you have only 1-6 months experience at the dance; you have danced awhile but you are still mesmerized by ochos, salidas, paradas, etc. You find yourself doing the same moves all the time. Register for the Intermediate/Advanced classes if: You know you aren't ready for Advanced material; you need more technique and variety; you don't feel like a Beginner anymore; you can lead or follow comfortably and have a nice vocabulary of tango that allows you to be somewhat flexible on the dance floor, yet, you aren't quite improvisational; you don't want to miss anything!!!!!!! Register for the Advanced classes if: You are progressive in your ideas of Tango; you know a lot, yet you realize how much more there is to learn; your Tango has matured; you contribute to the art of Tango; you understand the connection to the music & your partner is what matters most; improvisation is the name of your dance; you are mesmerized by the infinite flexibility Tango offers!!!!!!! **Only Full Weekend Passes or Daily Passes will be available.
