Hi all, here's one last attempt to drum up support and students for this weekend's events with Stefan and Komala. I've removed the "partner requirement" for the Saturday workshop (3hrs for $25) and also there's an extra $5 discount if you bring food (Potluck Style) to the now "more affordable and cool" Euro "Potluck" Milonga (this Sunday at The Beat, see below)!!!
Note: This is a rare opportunity to study & dance with two great European teachers & social dancers. Furthermore, if you ever plan to visit & tango in Europe and/or El Corte, then they are great folks to talk to for advice, etc. They'll be at Rhythm and Motion this Friday if you wish to say hello and/or dance with them... Take Care, Homer :) http://organictango.info (pics of Stefan and Komala here) San Francisco & the surrounding Bay Area welcomes El Corte's Komala & Stefan... ------------------------------------------------ Argentine Tango Classes & special Sunday Night "Euro" Milonga with guest instructors Komala and Stefan (May 31st to June 1st) For over a decade Komala has been teaching in Europe where she is highly respected. She has a profound knowledge of the body and of the dynamics of tango. Her follower's workshops are invaluable to followers who want to know their bodies better and to become more active in the dance, and her other workshops deal primarily with the energy and dynamics of the dance, preparing leaders and followers for a new level of communication. Komala started tango dancing in 1990. She began her professional career by teaching together with Eric Jorissen, founder of the famous tango center, El Corte, Nijmegen, The Netherlands (see http://www.elcorte.com for more info). She is currently a main hostess and teacher of El Corte. Countless beginners and more experienced tango enthusiasts have made pilgrimages to El Corte throughout the years. It is known as the "Tango Mecca" of Europe. A gathering place for tango lovers to learn and indulge in their passion! (I've been there twice now, and plan on returning this Winter again - just can't get enough of it!!!) Stefan is also a host and a teacher of El Corte. After discovering tango in his previous residence, Munich, he developed his own style in teaching and dancing. In 1999 he came to Nijmegen to live his tango life and he met Komala. ------------------------------------------------ Saturday, May 31st, Pat & Nirmala's Studio, 3971 26th Street, San Francisco, CA (Between Church & Sanchez) 1:00pm to 2:30pm, Beginner/Intermediate, "Turns w/ Cunitas" 2:30pm to 4:00pm, Intermediate/Advanced, "Sending & Going" $15 for single class, $25 for both classes (prices per person) (No Partner Required!) ------------------------------------------------ Euro "Potluck" Milonga at The Beat w/ class Sunday, June 1st, The Beat, 2560 9th Street, Berkeley, CA (Corner of Parker & 9th) 7:30pm to 9:00pm, Beginner/Intermediate, "Connecting People" 9:00pm to Whenever, The Euro "Potluck" Milonga (w/ DJ Homer Ladas) $15/class + Milonga, $10 for Milonga only Bring a small Food dish or some Drink, "Potluck-style", and you'll get another $5 discount!
